DLA Piper’s International Training Contract is for individuals who are ready to perform at the highest level of the legal profession. With market-leading practices across Corporate, Litigation and Regulatory, and Finance, alongside recognised expertise in life sciences, technology and financial services, DLA Piper advises on significant matters shaping the legal landscape. From day one, trainees are embedded in complex, cross-border matters, advising on intricate legal challenges, leveraging advanced legal technology and delivering precise, commercially focused outcomes for clients. During four dynamic six-month placements, trainees work across DLA Piper’s practice groups, building a well-rounded skillset and developing valuable sector-specific expertise. Trainees gain valuable experience through client secondments, continuous learning, and guidance from a network of supervisors and mentors. DLA Piper’s award-winning 3.5-week Summer Internship Programme is the firm’s primary assessment route for its International Training Contract. Working alongside experienced lawyers, interns engage with sophisticated legal matters, developing analytical skills while contributing in a fast- paced, professional environment. Law students are eligible to apply in their penultimate year, with non-Law students eligible in their final year. The internship is also open to graduates. Trainees are sponsored to attend a Masters level preparatory course which includes the SQE1, SQE2 and SQE Plus. Non- Law graduates are sponsored to also complete the PGDL.
