Through hands-on store experience, people management, and commercial decision-making, graduates build the skills and confidence to eventually run their own M&S store. The Food and Fashion Programmes provide exposure to one of the UK’s most iconic retailers. Starting with a store placement, graduates work shoulder- to-shoulder with teams who bring the M&S brand to life every day, shaping experiences for the 32 million customers who shop with them worldwide. All graduates join M&S on a permanent contract and benefit from structured development from day one. This includes mentoring, tailored learning modules, business masterclasses, and support from experienced leaders. Whether on a Retail or Support Center programme, graduates take on real responsibility early and are supported to grow into future leaders. Many go on to secure roles as Store Managers, Category Specialists or Commercial Leads across the UK.
