The challenges facing policing have never been greater and public trust has declined to devastating lows. It is time for change. Police Now is a charity with a mission to build a more representative police service by recruiting outstanding, diverse graduates to be leaders in society and on the policing frontline. Police Now offers the only National Graduate Programme into policing, working with police forces across England and Wales. Graduates work on big societal issues; help create safer communities; support victims and drive a positive and fair internal culture in policing. Graduates get paid a salary from day one while they train to become neighbourhood police officers or detectives. The training empowers graduates to make an immediate and real impact and gain the confidence needed to drive transformative change and rebuild trust. Over two years, graduates develop their problem-solving and leadership skills, beginning with an award-winning training academy, while receiving support from a dedicated performance and development coach to aid their growth and help them to navigate a new career. Those training to be neighbourhood police officers can apply for a four- week secondment. This is a unique opportunity to develop skills and gain valuable experience working with external partners like the Home Office. After successfully completing the two-year programme, graduates become fully warranted officers. Graduates from all degree disciplines can bring skills to policing and contribute to Police Now’s mission. Ongoing career and promotion support is provided by Police Now beyond the programme. Few careers offer the combination to make a meaningful difference where it matters most, and a breadth of opportunities for progression.
