The Freshfields’ eight-seat trainee associate programme offers graduates the opportunity to explore diverse areas of commercial law while embarking on a career filled with high-profile and precedent-setting work. Combining on-the-job learning with structured skills development, graduates can expect more collaboration, more opportunity, more variety and more impact. All while building the skills and making the most of the opportunities needed to grow – not just as lawyers, but as people too. Graduates will rotate teams every three months and be given the opportunity to decide what practice area they would like to experience next. Throughout the programme and beyond, they are empowered to make the most of the opportunities on offer and shape their own journey at the firm. Freshfields’ vacation scheme is an exciting way for individuals to gain a practical insight into life at the firm. Interns will join the London office and immerse themselves in the work and culture through engaging with associates and partners, participating in group exercises, and contributing to real projects. All future trainees at Freshfields will complete the City Consortium Solicitor Training Programme (CCP) with BPP Law School to prepare for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). Those who have completed a non-law undergraduate degree must complete the Law Conversion Course (PGDL) before starting the CCP and sitting the SQE exams. The firm sponsors the completion of the CCP and PGDL, as well as providing maintenance grants.
