Its Graduate Management Training Scheme (GMTS) is a great place to begin a journey towards becoming a healthcare leader of the future. GMTS trainees specialise in one of six areas: general management, HR, finance, policy & strategy, health informatics or health analysis. Their work can be in hospital or office settings and can range from A&E data analysis to service improvement, financial planning, and much more. Trainees get access to a comprehensive development package, including on-the-job training within placements where they gain specialist skills and postgraduate qualifications from leading universities. There is a wealth of on-scheme support available which includes pastoral and placement managers and individual support managers. With just over 200 graduates joining GMTS in 2024, there are many opportunities to build far-reaching networks and learn from fellow peers. The scheme has won multiple awards and gives endless ways to grow personally and professionally, while taking on early leadership responsibility. Graduates are selected based on their leadership potential, values and ambition to make a difference through a management career in health and care. The NHS offers both great responsibility and development potential.
