The Royal Air Force (RAF) brings together cutting-edge technology, a wide range of aircraft, and a broad spectrum of capabilities, to provide global air and space power to protect our nation and help it prosper, whilst promoting peace and stability, and acting as a force for good in the world. To do so, requires a team of people with the right skills and abilities, and with the right mindset and motivation. It is the people’s professionalism, dedication and courage that ensures the RAF remains a dynamic air force, able to deliver capability all over the world; be that in support of combat missions or humanitarian aid and disaster relief. Whilst the exploitation of cutting-edge technologies helps meet these challenges; it is essential that the RAF continues to recruit and select high calibre graduates, for officer roles, to lead the RAF of tomorrow. Graduates joining the RAF, as a commissioned Officer, have been selected because they have demonstrated that they have the potential to be a leader. As an Officer they will be expected to lead and manage RAF personnel, for whom they are responsible, to meet the operational challenges of today and tomorrow. The world-class training received by RAF Officers starts from day one with 6 months training delivered at RAF Cranwell, this is followed by further specialist training based on the area of specialisation chosen. There are more than twenty different graduate career opportunities, including engineering, aircrew, logistics and personnel roles, as well as medical opportunities for qualified doctors, nurses and dentists. In return, the RAF offers a competitive salary with yearly increases, subsidised food and accommodation, free medical and dental care, opportunities to travel and undertake adventurous training opportunities.
